Add favicon - new Google Sites
Add a favicon to your new Google Site so it can be see in visitors' web browser tabs, bookmarks and favourites

Use the Settings (looks like a cog/gear) near the Publish button
Choose the Brand images option
Either Upload an icon from your computer or Select and image by URL or choose from Google Search, Google Photos or Google Drive.
Close the Settings dialogue box
Use the Publish button to make the icon live on the site.
If you do not upload a square image then Google Sites will add padding automatically.
It can take a little time for the favicon to appear on the published site.
If you want transparency in your favicon you need to upload a PNG with transparency in the image.
Use the Settings (looks like a cog/gear) near the Publish button
Choose the Brand images option
Use the Delete button (looks like a trash can/rubbish bin) on the favicon.
Close the Settings dialogue box.
Use the Publish button to remove the icon from the live site.
Delete your favicon (see instructions above)
Add the new favicon you want to display (see instructions above)
